Our History
Mzansi Munchies was founded in 2020 by Thandiwe Nkosi and Sipho Dlamini, two lifelong friends who shared a passion for South African street food. Growing up in Soweto, Johannesburg, Thandiwe and Sipho spent their childhood exploring the vibrant food stalls and markets in their community. They were inspired by the incredible flavors and the sense of community that surrounded street food. After years of working in the food industry, Thandiwe and Sipho decided to create a platform to share their love for South African street food with the world. They started Mzansi Munchies as a small blog, sharing recipes and stories from their favorite local food vendors. Over time, the blog grew into a comprehensive website, featuring a wide range of content, including recipes, articles, and videos.
